This meeting highlights innovation and startups in EVs and electrification. We'll hear from a number of the providers of ideas and products, see a number of demos, and hear dozens of startups pitching their new solutions. These ½-day, executive-format agendas highlight a few larger vendors who are leading the segment forward and bring dozens of undiscovered companies to the stage as well.
Electric Vehicles are poised to play a larger role in our automotive, transport, and mobility future. The International Energy Agency predicts that Electric vehicles will grow from 3 million to 125 million by 2030, and that the worlds EV fleet grew 54 percent to 3.1 million in 2017. That's a staggering growth rate for the total fleet size, which normally moves slower than annual sales. Meanwhile, in Norway, EVs accounted for 39% of new car sales last year, and 6.4% of their fleet. (Wow! Norway sure hates oil!)
While some major OEMS like FCA have been openly hostile towards an EV future, others like VW have embraced the opportunity with conviction.
